Your personal adventure guide greets you at your port (for morning tours) or local accommodations and whisks you away to immerse yourself in a distinctive, customizable journey transcending the ordinary. Afternoon tours are offered a shuttle to town in the am to begin exploring the downtown area before meeting your guide in a central downtown spot for your afternoon tour.

We adapt the route to the weather and the abilities of our guests, visiting forest trails, discovering hidden waterfalls, and enjoying the breathtaking scenery. Make stops along the route as you explore nearly all of the Sitka road system. Our company is uniquely permitted to explore trails throughout the community designated by the US Forest Service, and the City of Sitka, giving you limitless choices for how best to spend your day.

Routes vary by season, physical abilities of the group, special requests, and time of day. Afternoon tours may begin downtown and end with a return trip to the terminal.

Your group of up to 11 explorers per vehicle in our Hybrid Toyota Sienna Mini Vans or Mercedes Sprinter Van ensures a uniquely intimate encounter. (larger group options available)

This tour includes admission as we stop at the Fortress of the Bears to immerse your group in a personally guided tour to gain insights into these incredible creatures.

Sample Itinerary includes:

Pick up right at the terminal or downtown Sitka.

Stop at Starrigavin Estuary Trails @25-35 min. At the trail crosses a bridge over Starrigavan Creek, leading to the Estuary Life Trail. In late summer and fall, spawning salmon are visible from the bridge and a bird viewing platform. Bears often feed in the estuary and may use the trails. Interpretive panels highlight the area's birds and estuary dynamics.

Guided scenic tour of the Sitka highway road winding along the sea, learning about local culture, the daily life of residents, and landmarks in the area. Witness the majestic Mt Edgecumbe volcano in the distance. @10-15 min.

A quick drive through downtown Sitka for a “get acquainted” glimpse of shops and meeting points for later on your own. @5-10 min.

Stop at Fortress of the Bear - Sanctuary - @30 min visit the most popular attraction in Sitka, where you can see these beautiful creatures with your own personal guide.

Stop at Scenic Silver Bay overlook @10-15 min as we exit the vehicle to capture your pictures in front of this fantastic and majestic body of water surrounded by tall mountain peaks.

Stop - Walk one of our local trails, giving you a glimpse of the beauty of the Tongass - the largest National Forest in the US and the largest temperate rainforest in the world. @ 25-35 min.

Road trip winding our way back on the scenic roads to the center of Sitka, where you can get off and explore the Sitka National Historic Park on your own (free admission) or downtown to do some shopping. Both are within an easy walking distance of @1.5 miles maximum. Or have your guide leave you off near a picnic table at the harbor to enjoy your included meal. You will also be near the free shuttle returning to the ship.

The Island is gorgeous. Situated just a short boat ride from Sitka proper, you have everything you could possibly need. Spectacular views! Sea life! And the tremendous hospitality of Sara and Cole who provide a welcome and cheerful home away from home. I love the place. Highly recommend it anyone.

Cole and Sara are so much fun to go out on the water with. They are careful and safe and know what they are doing. Getting out on the water is really the best way to see Sitka and the area. Our family stayed here and we had a blast! Sara and Cole are amazing hosts and the island is beautiful. The fishing is great in the area as well. Tons of wildlife and gorgeous sites to see. I highly recommend visiting!
